Well, not really. Anyway, on August 1st, we released Laboo!, a car search site for the biggest used car trader in Japan, Gulliver International. I worked on this site as well, pretty much site design and GUI. The final outcome was a bit clumsy, but there’s some pretty cool stuff and funky concepts too, like using user page view and click history to calculate relationships between cars, or using data analysis on surveys to map out what cars people with certain lifestyles (exemplified by their affinity for a certain brand or pet or cartoon character, for instance) prefer to own.

へきるちゃんに送ったレポート・・・。時間ないから使いまわし。しくしく
8月12日～15日が徳島の阿波踊りです。毎年、東大連として、うちの会社の初期メンバーが参加します。徳島は社長の実家なので。大学終わってすぐ4人仲間と会社を作りましたが、今年で5年目に入ります。社員40人ぐらいで、派遣入れて90人近く、よくやったな・・・。
今回の参加人数もなんと、14人。その中には、アイビーもこっそり入りました（笑）。まぁ、大阪からバスで2時間半もかからず、日本の伝統「阿波踊り」を見逃すわけないっしょう！
大阪から出た8:15のバスで、10:30徳島着。社長の実家まで歩いて10分ぐらいで、実は立派な4階建て！2階が歯医者（父）で、3,4階は会社の宿になっていました（笑）。4日目でみんな疲れていてぐっすり寝ていました。
アイビーも、ある方の激しいライブ（誰だろう？！）で疲れていて、昼過ぎぐらいまで仮眠とっていました。ある程度みんなが復活していましたら、昼ごはん（うどん）＋はっぴ（東大連）を行ってきました。これで阿波踊りの準備ばっちり！
いやぁ、もうすごかったですよ、阿波踊り。17時から着替えとヘア・メークをして、18:30に開演！じゃなくて、町の大通りに集合して踊り始めました。うん、余り慣れていなかったからかなり下手でしたが、楽しかったです！うちの会社は、完全に東大連の常連メンバーですから（笑）。超自然に、踊り、フォーメーション、太鼓まで。
でも、一番すごかったのは、踊りと踊りの間、みんながどんどん肩車してお酒のビンを取ろうとしたあの風景・・・。太鼓が「どんどんどん」で、みんなが肩組んで走り、「らっしゃい！」と叫んで、肩車始めたら全員が「まったまったまったまったぁぁ～！」と唱えたり提灯を回したり、一升瓶が空になるまでには次から次へ飲みの戦いが続きました。
もう、汗ではっぴびしょびしょ。腕が動かないまでに、誰よりも提灯を高く激しく上げようとしました。あの場のエネルギー、お酒だけではなく雰囲気自体に酔っていて、最高な盛り上がりでした。変な話だけど、へきるさんのライブを思い出しました（笑）。同じように、みんなのパワーが一つになって、疲れまったく感じずに全身全力でぶつけいきました。このハイは、一生忘れられません。
まぁ、23時ぐらいに、メインが終わりましたが、近くの公演で2～3時までに続きがありました。私は1時ぐらいにもギブアップして、先に帰りましたけど。なぜか途中、突然すごくさみしい感じになったのもあって、やっぱり、人生の一瞬一瞬ってそんなもんだろう・・・。
本当に素晴らしく、「生きている」を感じて、人間の「魂」と振れた夜でした。
やっぱ、人生に一回ぐらい、体験するべきだね、徳島の阿波踊り。

Do you feel… do you feel sometimes that you’ve fallen into a dream, that you are walking one step apart from the world? I sit here surrounded by the bustle of the office and people shouting of this and that to each other. Work.
Dream.
I cannot feel reality. The past few days have been a whirlwind; no, not a dream, but bright blazing life. Reality and feelings and the rush of being alive and within a maelstrom of human energy. A miracle, that perfect moment when people come together and you transcend the plodding everyday, and suddenly you fall and fly and burst into flame. Everything, everything burning bright in the chaos and swirl of people drunk on the joy of being simply being Here.
Incredible nights of my life, when I feel more than ever, when I lose myself in that maelstrom, the ultimate high. Hekiru, Hekiru, you who hold that power, standing on that stage, larger than life yet so very real, draw me in and I disappear, only the feeling remains. And then Awaodori, yes, I dance and shout and prance and feel my soul beat to the taiko drum, my arms tireless as I hoist and twirl the staff of the chouchin, and I am once again lost. It is a brilliant night.
And I can’t help but feel a little sorry for myself, watching, thinking, longing for… What happens when you fall for someone new? Ah, but then, even if it doesn’t work out, you can try anyway, right?
When I looked into the midnight sky, I saw Mars shining. And, just a little moment, I wished the world would go away. I’m tired of wanting what I cannot have.
Glimpses of ectasy clash, and I feel a thin ghost sitting here, surrounded by Reality.

Wanna bike! Most of the guys in my office commute by bike. We ride over to client meetings, suits and all, on oversized scooters. I’ve decided I would like my own little sportsbike to zip around in.
A 50 cc is just a paper test away. Honda has this sweet little machine called the NSR50. Woo!
Okay, yeah, I’m bored, and I don’t feel like working. Got a ton of manga for dirt cheap, Natsuki Crisis rocks and Hagaren’s pretty cool. Can’t wait for Hekiru man.
